“Exploring, Assessing and Applying SOFT skills
in DENTAL University students – DENTA_SOFT”
The project within Sector “Cooperation partnerships in higher education (KA220-HED)” is led by Medical University – Sofia, Faculty of Dental Medicine.
The other consortium partners are four universities: University of Oviedo – Spain, University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Grigore T. Popa” – Bucharest, Romania, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki – Greece and ”Hatay Mustafa Kemal University” – Antakya, Turkey.
DENTA_SOFT specific objectives are:
– To provide practical approach focusing on the soft skills that students develop and reinforce during their education as dental professionals;
– To improve competences of both students and teachers by designing teaching and learning materials, developing new and adapting existing tools;
– To equip students with set of soft skills required in their professional settings that could become widely used reference at European level;
The planned joint project activities are: conducting a study on the behavioral sciences teaching regarding soft skills, drafting a comparative analysis on the curricula of the four dental faculties, conducting a study on the perceptions and attitudes of patients related to the soft skills identified in the process of communication between patients and dental medicine doctors. Survey on a patients’ satisfaction related to the interaction with students in the upper courses, trainings in different modules on the development of soft skills for both teachers and students, a manual with good practices and a mobile application are among the other project activities, defined in several work packages.
The total budget of the project is 250,000 euro.
